Before we all dive into it - let's have a quick look at the background and motivation of Surf. This should help set the stage.
Our goal at Deta is to make computing products that help people think better. We’re not trying to build a better tab manager!
We got a lot of negative feedback around Surf alpha: it’s too slow, it’s too complicated to use, it’s too buggy. But there was also a bright center of positive feedback from people who weren’t using Surf like a traditional web browser, but were using it to manage their research and do their best thinking on top. This was the kind of usage we were looking for!
