While other AI chat applications like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude are powerful on their own, we believe the effectiveness of AI increases dramatically with the right context.
With Surf, you can tie AI directly into your own context, both the one you are in right now and contexts you are working with over a longer time. You can use Surf’s AI to chat with your tabs like a website or YouTube video, with PDFs and entire collections of things (called contexts in Surf).
To open a chat, hit ⌘/ctrl + E or click the “Ask” button from Teletype and it will open the sidebar chat interface.
Surf gives you fine grained control of what you chat with and it’s responses will include citations to the different sources it used to generate the answer.
