Why Analytics?

While in alpha, Surf has some analytics in the app to help us improve Surf and make informed decisions while designing and building the product.

Analytics are anonymous by default, and as we open up access down the line, we plan to make analytics fully opt-in.

What We Track

The analytics include interactions with certain app features, like activating a tab, opening the sidebar, downloading an image or using chat.

They do not include sensitive or personal information — like the URLs of the websites you visit or the contents of the data you store.

How You Can Help Us

By default our analytics are anonymous so we do not know how any individual user uses Surf.

In some cases it would be helpful to us to be able to contact you based on your usage. You can choose to let us link this data to your account email, so we can contact you about your experience.

To do that open the app settings (⌘/ctrl + ,) and click “Help us improve Surf”.

Further Information

You can read more about your privacy in our **Privacy Policy.** If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
